How can I delete my account?

Instructions on how to remove your data and delete your account with BlueTally

Whether you created a separate trial account by accident or your organization no longer wants to use BlueTally, we understand there may be situations where you need to delete your account altogether. Please see the instructions below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you only need to reset the data on your account to start fresh with new data, please see our guide on resetting your account instead.

Deleting your account

First, open your account settings by clicking on the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, then click on the Settings option that appears in the dropdown menu.


From your account settings, navigate to the Delete Company Account section. It's the very last section at the bottom of the page.

Once there, click the red "Delete my account" button. A pop-up window will appear asking why you're deleting it.

Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up window, where you will see a field that prompts you to enter "DELETE ENTIRE COMPANY". Type in the phrase (it isn't case-sensitive, so it doesn't have to be all caps), and you'll see the red button below get brighter, signifying that you can click it to delete the account.

Click the red "DELETE ENTIRE COMPANY" button. You'll then be presented with a new screen that states your account was deleted, and your data will be backed up for the next week.

If what you see is similar to the screenshot above (naturally, your one-week back-up date will be different), then your account was deleted successfully!

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I just cancel my subscription instead? Won't that delete my data and account after a certain amount of time?

Canceling your subscription will ensure that you are no longer billed, and you will lose access to your account until you re-subscribe, but it will not delete your account outright. This way, if you decide that you want to come back to BlueTally, you can reactivate your subscription with that same account and pick up where you left off.

However, if you cancel your subscription and are certain you won't come back, we recommend deleting your account as well to ensure that your data is no longer stored on our servers.

Can I delete my account before canceling my subscription?

No, if you have an active paid subscription, you won't be able to delete your account until after you have canceled your subscription.

What if I delete my account and decide to use BlueTally again? Can the data be restored?

If you reach out to us in the first seven days after your account was deleted, then we can restore the data on your account since we will still have a backup on our servers. However, once we remove the backup, your data can no longer be recovered.
